We Are Open for the Winter
- unlike so many of our Shenandoah National Park neighbors

Now is the time to cozy up with fires, games, and activities almost every Friday, Saturday and Sunday in the winter for "Winter Weekend Getaways in the Blue Ridge".

We are open for lodging and events all through the winter here at Graves.

Accommodations are available for all days but

  • the Farm Restaurant is open only for weekend Friday dinner through Sunday lunch with the Restaurant Team ready to serve you.
  • The Syria Mercantile stands by for light food options with Deli and Sundries for the microwave and fridge in rooms.

Winter Getaway ski at Massanutten - stay at Graves Mountain Farm & Lodges

Cozy Winter Weekends- After a day of skiing, boarding at Massanutten - over the Blue Ridge from us, 1 hr away. Tickets from $45 for 4 hours and youth at $37.Equipment and lessons also available.

Cozy Winter Weekend Getaways - with our renowned landscape artist and mentor, Lou Messa Dec 7, Jan 25, Feb 22, and Mar 14 - $175 per person, limited to eight. Lou is a painter of America’s rural heritage. You can be a beginner, an “ I could never do that” person and Lou will guide you to a finished landscape. Join guides, Jenn & Daniel Mintz, for a nature walk exploring the Graves Mountain property. FREE learning experience--all are welcome!
Our guides from In True Nature will share a bit of the natural and human history of this special part of Appalachian foothills and will encourage you to discover the beauty in both the everlasting and the critical changes that surround us.
Together we will explore the plant medicines that have been used for generations, the foods provided to people and wildlife, and the other opportunities that Mother Nature provides.

Wine Tastings of local fine wine at Graves Mountain

Cozy Winter Weekends Wine Tasting Get-together Sat 5:30-6:30PM, dates TBA $15 pp. - OPEN to all. With our local valley partners - DuCard Vineyards and their wine-maker from France, Julien, we will be tasting a fine selection of their award winning wines. With nibbles to clear the palette and ease making new friends. One surprise taste test for us all - comparing to fine French vineyard and year. Cozy Winter Weekends - Rose Valley Live Music Nights. Our local Blue Ridge music talent plays in the intimate lounge with fireplace and s'mores. 7:30 PM to 9:30 on Friday and Saturday nights.FREE.

Horse Get-away weekend in the Blue Ridge

Cozy Winter Weekends - Get to Know Your Horse. 10AM - 4 PM with lunch break. Introduction to the horse by Eddie and Leah, heads of horsemanship at the Farm. Start with horse intro, how to work with, how to stay safe with, how to care for, how to feed. How does the tack work and why. Now on a horse for how your body communicates, how your thought communicates, what does your weight do, your kegs, your hands - "soft hands", "soft mouth". Then out on the trail after lunch. A re-group, what learned, what a challenge, then out on the trail again. How to put up your horse and say good-bye Then home to a warm drink and fire.

Cozy Winter Weekend Wine and Paint Afternoon by the Fire
With our local valley art teacher and gallery owner (the Possum's Store). Start a canvas and with guidance end the afternoon with your painting - all materials provided. Massages at Graves Mountain with Jenn Mintz and Meagan Rivera

MASSAGES at the FARM - with Jenn Mintz and Meagan Rivera - by advance reservation (try, please to give us at least a day).
Offering therapeutic, relaxation, and Reiki approaches. Treatments are catered to meet your needs, whether preparing for or recovering from an outdoor adventure or wanting to promote relaxation for your cozy winter weekend at the Graves Mountain Farm. Have the massage in the comfort of room or in Poplar Library. $90 per hr. 60, 90 or 120 min sessions.

Hunting on our private 1100 acres in the VA Blue Ridge, 90 mins from DC.

Cozy Winter Weekends - AFTER a day of hunting in the mountains. Hunting – on the 1100 acres of the Farm just 90 mins from DC. We have deer, bear and turkey.
Hunting here can be a challenge with much of our forest on mountain slopes. Please be aware that getting your game out can be a challenge.

Mountain Stream Fly Fishing Winter Workshops at Graves Mountain

Cozy Winter Weekends - Winter Mountain Stream Fly Fishing Workshops. Dates to be determined. With Galen Westman and our own James Graves. Winter is some of the best fishing. These two will help their fisherfolk get to the native trout and do where hardly anyone goes - just above our property line in Shenandoah National Park
